Mature Masculinity
One reason why we chose to open up our men’s clinic was to cater for men that prefer a more masculine space. We wanted to build an atmosphere that resonates with our inner masculinity, and there is nothing wrong with that.
There are social groups and movements out there promoting women to embrace their inner femininity, and the more power to them! We applaud them for exploring and being curious with their feminine woman energy. But there are a minority of groups shaming men for expressing their masculinity and encouraging men to be more feminine…to make them (the women) feel more comfortable and safe.
But true masculinity is not a threat to the powers of the feminine. We encourage you, men, to embrace the power of masculinity! Don’t allow “political correctness” to distract you or guilt trip you to strip your masculinity from your spirit!
Of course, having the wrong mindset, attitude and understanding of both masculinity and femininity can be destructive and damaging. Neither are out to compete each other, but to always harmonize together, to work together, to improving each other.
Just like the yin yang symbol, we have both masculinity and femininity energies. But both must co-exist in harmony within us. How do you know when someone is out of sync? When they use their energy to dominate, overpower, manipulate, control and shame others.
Some behavioural points to know what mature masculinity looks like.
- Being bold and strong in one’s beliefs and opinions, but is also open and respectable to others being bold and strong in their own beliefs and opinions.
- Does not fall victim to the shame of being perceived as weak in their vulnerability. Even through their tears, you can feel the strength of their conviction and the sacrifices they had to make to be a man of integrity.
- They provide not just financially or physical safety, but emotional safety. They hold a safe space for their loved ones to express their moments of joy and moments of frustration without feeling a sense of abandonment, rejection or judgement.
- He serves by investing into others to help them grow, develop and mature in their own masculinity and femininity.
